Citizens Emergency Response Team

The Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) program invites Newark residents to serve as volunteers during an emergency. Volunteers received basic training in terrorism, fire safety, light search and rescue tactics, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT members also assist in non-emergency projects that improve the safety of the community, such as distributing and installing smoke alarms, replacing smoke alarm batteries in the homes of senior citizens, or providing educational materials about emergency preparedness or relief as needed.

After completing the below form, you will be advised when an upcoming training becomes available.
